The Howard Parmele Award is the highest honor the screen printing and graphic imaging industry has to offer. Named in tribute to one of the Association's founders, the Parmele award is considered the "Oscar" or "Emmy" of the screen printing and graphic imaging industry, and has been awarded each year since 1955. The Parmele Award is conferred upon someone whose dedication and accomplishments reflect an ongoing commitment to improve the industry's products, services and image.

The Golden Image/André Schellenberg Awards competition highlights the best and most creative imaged products for every avenue of the diverse specialty imaging marketplace. This competition is open only to SGIA printer members, with judging and recognition bestowed on-site at SGIA Expos. SGIA printer members receive one free entry, with additional at just $20 each. Every entrant is considered for the “Best in Show” (screen printing and digital imaging) and “Best in Creativity” (digital imaging) awards. Find more information here.

The DPI Product of the Year competition compares the capabilities of products and output devices for digital imaging. A panel of judges selects from submitted entries the best digital consumables and technologies that are moving the specialty imaging industry forward. Only SGIA manufacturing members, or exhibitors, can enter outstanding products that have improved the industry. Submitted products must be new to the market for the year of the competition (i.e., a product must be introduced in 2008 to be entered for the SGIA ’08 competition). Find more information here.

The Academy of Screen Printing Technology (ASPT) was established in 1973 by SGIA's Board of Directors, as a body of technical authorities representing the highest plane of technological expertise to be found in the screen printing industry. The stated purpose of the Academy is to assist, promote and encourage the development of new technical papers relating to screen printing, and to make such papers available to the industry throughout the world. Generally, ASPT members nominate people to be inducted, but nominations may also be received from SGIA members.
