Introducing New Ideas & Applications
The latest applications were on display throughout the Expo — from Technoptic’s high-definition entry lenticulars to 3M’s vinyl floor graphics displayed throughout the registration center and lobby. The Association’s booth even featured carpet donated from UltraFlex and printed by Olympus Flag and Banner using donated VUTEk inks.
Showcasing the latest in specialty imaging, innovative applications were used to highlight interesting and new areas of the Expo.
WrapQuest ‘08
PDAA’s successful WrapQuest ’08 gave participants the chance to wrap vehicles with film from a variety of SGIA ’08 exhibitors including: LG, MacTac, Avery, Arlon and Oracle.
“I tried out each of the films and it’s great to get that experience,” said Richard Novara, Novaras LLC (Charlotte, North Carolina). “The show is great, and the new products out there are pretty exciting.”
Expert installers were on-hand to give tips, guidance and general how-tos. “We had a good mix of exhibitors here in the material representation,” said Charles Uyleman, President and Master Installer at WrapQuest ’08, Devil Dog Installations LLC. “A lot of small shop owners have come here because they’re sourcing installation for vehicle wraps.”
SFX, DTGs and Roll-to-Roll
The Digital Apparel Production Zone, a sales-free, educational environment — provided daily demonstrations of the latest in digital garment decoration, from transfers to rhinestones — and using the newest DTG equipment available from SGIA exhibitors: Brother International Corporation, The Paper Ranch, Roland DGA, M&R Companies, Geo Knight & Co., Insta Graphic Systems, US Screen Print and Inkjet Technology, Vapor Apparel/Source Substrates.
“I could only come for two days but the travel and cost has been worthwhile just looking at this,” said Margarita Vernet, Abaco Promo Products (Venezuela).
Born to Print
The popular Interior Design Display gave attendees an inside look at the newest techniques in specialty imaged interior designs — providing attendees with innovative ideas about imaged home and business interior spaces — from tile, carpet, curtains, tabletops and wallpaper.
