The many awards given during SGIA ’08 showcased the innovation and creativity of the diverse specialty imaging  community.

Parmele and Innovator Awards
The 2008 Innovator Award and the 2008 Howard Howard Parmele Award are among the most prestigious for the specialty imaging industry. This year, the coveted Innovator Award was presented at the Keynote Luncheon to James Gandy of Gandinnovations for actively moving the digital imaging industry forward. And the Friday Night Dinner Party was capped off when Yunker announced the Parmele award winners, Co-owners and brothers, Ben and David Landesman of Lawson Screen & Digital Products Inc. (St. Louis, Missouri).

Product of the Year
SGIA also named the winners of the Product of the Year competition — chosen at the Expo by a team of digital imaging professionals. In the Output Device category, entrants were required to submit a test print, produced from the nominated device. The test image, designed by SGIA, is intended to challenge the output device’s capabilities.

Swormstedt Award
SGIA’s Academy of Screen Printing Technology awarded Mike Ruff the Swormstedt Award, which selects the best article or technical paper promoting the advancements in screen printing.

Golden Image/André Schellenberg
Congratulations to the SGIA Golden Image/Andre Schellenberg winners! Judged in 38 categories onsite at the Golden Image gallery, these winners, from more than 500 entries, showcased all the innovative and creative applications available in the industry today.
